The name 127 East Advisory is drawn from the 127th east meridian, the north-south line running from North-East Asia through the Indo-Pacific island chains to Australia. It marks the geographic spine of Australia’s core security interests: the region where our strategic partnerships, our capability investments, and our national security are shaped.
The name is deliberate. We advise within the strategic and geographic context that defines Australia’s defence environment, with an understanding of the partnerships, industrial ecosystems, and government realities that determine whether capability is delivered or not.
Every adviser at 127 East Advisory brings over 30 years of individual experience across at least two of three sectors: uniform service, the Australian Public Service, and the defence industry. We are not generalist consultants who have studied Defence from the outside. We have served in it, worked inside the organisation, and delivered capability for government and industry clients.
That experience shapes how we advise. We understand Defence structures, ASDEFCON templates, gate processes, and approval pathways, but we also understand the informal dynamics, the stakeholder relationships, and the practical constraints that determine what is actually achievable.
